Club Open

We are happy to say we are once again open for our members

In these uncertain times we will however have to operate with the following restrictions for the foreseeable future:

Mandatory Face Coverings

Face masks/coverings are now mandatory until you are seated at a table.

Please wear a face covering when entering, exiting or moving around the building

Opening Times

The club will continue to open 7 days a week, we will be operating with the following hours:

12pm – 10pm

(Last orders at 9:10pm, Members to leave by 10:00pm)

There will strictly be no entry to members before 12pm

Guests

Members are welcome to bring guests into the club. Any guests brought in will need to provide their details in co-operation with test and trace.

Social distancing regulations within the club will still need to be adhered to.

Children

Children are welcome on club premises.

Any children on club premises must remain with the adults they came with and will not be allowed to move freely around the club, children must always supervised.

Entry/Exit

We have designated the clubs main entrance (closest to Marlowe Gardens) as the official entry point into the club, when leaving members will exit through the function hall using the doors in the function hall lobby (closest to Whitewoods Removals).

Upon attending the club, you will be asked to show your current membership card. We have disabled the door entry system so all members will need to ring the bell to gain admittance.

In order to comply with the Governments track and trace rules, members and guests will be required to sign into the club every time you attend and provide the following details:

  • Full Name
  • Contact Telephone Number
  • Arrival Time

 A record of the sign in’s must be kept for 21 days.

You may also sign in by scanning the QR code displayed in the entrance hallway, using the NHS COVID 19 APP.

Table Service

A mandatory table service is now in operation and no drinks can be ordered directly at the bar.

Members and guests are requested to take a seat and a member of staff will come and take your order.

Capacity/Seating

We will be operating at a 78 persons maximum capacity (excluding staff), all three bars (members bar, lounge bar & function hall) have been set up for social distancing.  

We are now following the government’s ‘Rule of Six’, At any time 6 people can congregate, inside or outside, from any mixture of households. If more than 6 people congregate together in one group, this will be breaking the law.

6 people can attend the Club  from up to 6 households, form a single group, and sit on the same table (where table size permits this).

Where possible, persons within each group should still try to maintain a social distance of 1 metre + (this does not apply if the persons are from the same household or existing social bubble).

Members of one group should still follow social distancing guidance and not mix with another group whilst they are attending the Club.

Payment

Contactless payments would always be preferred; however, we will still be accepting cash if necessary. Members also have the option to top up their new membership cards to purchase their drinks.

Doors

In order to reduce contact, most doors inside the club will always be open.

Movement

Where possible the club will try to operate a one-way policy with movement throughout the building, markings will be clearly placed within the club to aid members when inside.

Toilets

There will be a maximum of 2 persons allowed in the club’s toilets at any one time, in the gent’s toilets there will only be 1 urinal and 1 cubicle operating along with 1 sink. In the ladies toilets there will be only 2 cubicles and 2 sinks operating. The disabled toilets will operate as normal.

Cleaning

We will be instigating a rigorous cleaning regime for the staff to follow, toilets and surfaces will be cleaned at frequent intervals, when members have vacated a table it will be cleaned ready for the next use.

Facilities

One of our gaming machines and the pull tab ticket machine are now in use, darts is also available for play but only on the stage area in the function hall.

Our Snooker tables are available for use, no booking is required to play.

Food

While there is currently no kitchen available, cold food can be brought into the club.

Sky Sports

We are starting to show some televised sport, the club will look at what televised sport is being shown and choose what is believed to be the most popular option. This will then be shown on the televisions around the club, no sound will be available.

We will not be able to accommodate requests for the chosen sport to be changed.

Entertainment

Tuesday night Bingo, has now returned, albeit socially distanced! Eyes down at 7:30pm with some good prizes.

Monday club will be returning on Monday 28th September. 

There will be an upcoming Race Night on Saturday 26th September.

We are looking to run Quiz nights every now and again.

We will be booking some singers in the near future.

Any entertainment we provide will currently still need to take place following social distancing guidelines, so for full details on upcoming events and how they will take place, please regularly check the club entertainment board and the website for further updates.

Functions

For the foreseeable future there will be no private bookings taking place, if you have booked a private function due to take place this year, please contact the club, a full refund for anything you have already paid will be given. Until the government releases further updates on how acceptable gatherings of large groups of people are able to take place we will not be able to host any bookings. We will provisionally take bookings for next year but currently do not know when they may be able to go ahead.

I understand there have been quite a lot of restrictions put in place and we are following government guidelines to maintain a safe environment for all our members and staff. The restrictions will be reviewed regularly, with appropriate changes made inline with any changes put in place by the government.

The way we operate and the use of the club will be a different environment going forward, I hope that members will still be able to enjoy their club and the environment we offer.
